sentimental income is a year-long project that explores the sentimentality of finding, collecting and creating meaning and memory from souvenirs. throughout a series of walks during 2020, i collected every coin i found, and assembled them into a 12'11" wearable garland. i also created portraits of the most distinctive coins before they were installed in their capsules. this piece was on display in september 2021 in the hearts and flowers exhibition at brooklyn metal works in brooklyn, ny.
